Happy Employees results in Hefty Profits - Are you a happy Employee and Employer?

Happy New Year to you all and also to your families, friends and love ones. My wish is that we all prosper and have good success in the year and beyond. This month we look at the various sectors we work and how some issues are handled.

This is to you the owner, CEO, Group head - Employer, the employee and the patron, customer or client of every company.During a discussion with a friend it was shocking some things I learned about some employees and what they go through. It is disheartening especially when we cannot discuss them openly because of one fear or the other. Most of these employees are victimized and sometimes fired from work.
Some employees work with companies and for up to a year and more without any form of raise in their salaries. Year in and year out they go through this and are expected to be even more productive each time. They live, pay bills on utility, fees, buy stuff and pay taxes just as others with at least annual raise in salaries (including their bosses) do.They have no say and no one to talk on their behalf because the boss is busily working on his own bonuses to care about him. No unions to represent these employees because most private companies do not encourage forming them. What happened to the part of the story that Bosses are to look out for their subordinates? It is no longer there and yet these same subordinates work their hearts out and as a boss you take the glory.
Another instance is where the boss tells you that you did not achieve your target which may actually be the truth per trends and results in the year under review. The result of that is no bonus for you but surprisingly your boss earned his exact expected bonus for the year or more. Check this out, your target in addition to some few others make up your bosses target. So the question is how it was possible he achieved?
Also, some companies do not see the need to offer their employees any health package. This makes it more expensive to the employees especially one without a raise. They are still expected to be healthy and present at work each day to perform their best always. They are employees not God or magicians to make the impossible possible.
Other companies have taken to outsourcing their human capital in order to avoid such costs. The outsourced companies have these employees on contracts that last for up to 12 months and sometimes less. These contracts take away some rights from the employees and they do not enjoy certain benefits. Employers are only interested in productivity and does not have any relationship at all with such employees.

Dear employers, our most important request this year is to have another look at these situations. Previous years have passed and it’s ok since we have passed through the hardship. Kudos to those who are already treating employees as family and appreciate them.
Let us begin on a clean slate in 2018. It is not the best to tell them to leave if they do not like what is happening or fire them.
We need to take a different look in order to make some drastic changes to keep our employees in the work and our customers happy. They are our first customers (internal) before the other 'external customers' comes in.A happy employee makes a happy customer and a company that thrives.
A prosperous new year to you
