How good is your Time Management?


Welcome to the new month fellas. Trust that the month of Love was good to us all.
There have been some good observations and experiences on a topic that is so dear to my heart – Time management. Some of us do an awful job at keeping this and it is quite worrying as it has become a canker. This is a very important aspect of our daily lives and needs to be handled well. It is a skill we must acquire to be able to make us function effectively even under pressure. 
“Time management” is said to be the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between specific activities to achieve desired results. In other words, it is the process of planning and exercising conscious control of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectivenessefficiency or productivity
 Ever wondered why it is so important to keep to your time effectively? Here are a few benefits you stand to gain.
·         Greater opportunities to achieve important life and career goals.
·         Higher productivity and efficiency.
·         A better professional reputation.
·         More or at least some time at hand for other engagements.
·         Less stress.
How about if you fail to or you are unable to manage your time effectively. Here are some consequences you are likely to face. 
    
·         Inefficient work flow.
·         Missed deadlines.
·         Poor or Zero Productivity.
·         Poor work quality.
·         A Poor Professional reputation (Image) and a stalled career.
·         Higher stress level.
So how then do you work on Improving on your Time management Skills?
Here are a few tips that works for me always. You may want to try them to see yourself at your best!

·         Make a list…An itinerary or ‘To do’ list with priorities set right.
·         Set deadlines and boundaries.
·         Stop multi-tasking where it does not help.
·         Delegate responsibilities.... this gets things done quickly and better especially when handled by experts.
·         Use your downtime well to make up for…Power outage, system challenge etc.
·         Never Procrastinate – it is said to be the thief of time.
·         Get extra help where needed – Tech support, experts etc.
·         Reward yourself when tasks are accomplished successfully.
