5 Tips to make your customers delighted this season

5 Tips to make your customers delighted this season

As businesses our main concern is always to sell and make the big bucks. There are a lot of the times we do not stop to think about the “People” we are making the money from.
This season especially all we would think of as companies is getting the customers coming into our shops with their pockets full of cash to buy things from us. I am not saying that is not good. If I tell you that there are other ways you can do things differently to get them to buy and buy more as well as been delighted in us and with what they get from us would you be interested to know? I thought so.
I present to you some few Tips that you can apply additionally to make you stand out and be the most preferred company your customers would like to buy from this season and beyond.

1.    Brainstorm with your team to offer your customers the best experience: The best is achieved when you work together as a team. Your entire team needs to be aware of the decision and how you intend to go with the plan to ensure that the experiences delivered is the same and best throughout. Allow your team to come up with various suggestions to choose from, they know the customers best since they interact with them on regular basis. Once the decision is made, prep the team on what to do and the various procedures to ensure a smooth implementation of the plan.

2.    Focus on existing customers: It is more advisable to put most of your effort into getting existing customers to buy more instead of putting all your effort into attracting more new customers. Existing customers are already in the mood to buy from your company and all they need is a nudge. The focus on them can also translate in attracting new customers without much effort but through the current customers. Make it a period to appreciate them more for their loyalty.

3.    Choose which days you would like for your promos and figure out the offers
The team should be able to decide whether the offer(s) would be on daily basis throughout the season or on some particular days. Example can be from 15th December to 3rd January or 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st and 1st. Once the decision is taken, the team must decide on the various packages to give on the particular days. Mostly offers are skewed to the particular celebration ex. Christmas day and New Year day. So would it be discounts or bundle prices?  Would it be gift packages, Lunch, Dinner, family day out etc? Knowing your customers would inform you as to which would be the best option.

4.    Make it easy for your customers to buy
To be unique, appealing and be the most preferred you need to go the extra mile for your customers. You should be able to make it easier for your customers to buy from you. This can be right from your website or social media platforms. Tell the customers what is available on offer, prices, timelines, and packages and how they can make their orders. The fun part is the “icing on the cake”, for the periods chosen in (3) above - offer free delivery services, after sale service and discount packages. Out of these there could be a lot of things the team can come up with to meet each customer that walks in or make orders in the comfort of their homes. Think of what extra thing you can do for your best customers to relief them of the stress to go through traffic to get to you, spend hours walking through the shop to make picks etc. This is the time to show your appreciation and make them feel as the “King” they are.

5.    Put a smile on their faces
If your customers are happy they would definitely come back again. This is very important in delighting the customer. Aside the other give away when they buy from you think of an extra thing you can do for them. Send them a Christmas card and messages with their names, invite them to a company function for the year end among others. How do you think they would feel?
Imagine you can provide a place where the children can play, get to meet other kids, face paint, dance and make merry while Mum or Dad is doing the rest of the shopping. This would be a relief to most parents and guardians who would appreciate an extra hand in taking care of the children for some few hours. It would translate into more buys directly and indirectly.

You may have been doing some of them but I urge you to make a more conscious effort to implement them and you will see the results. By all means involve your entire team and for once be committed to making your customers smile and you will smile more.
